Sports & Youth Ministry

LEAGUE FORMING

Three-man is forming for the remaining Summer season. This will be a medium pitch league with fences. The format will be pick-up, so players will rotate to different teams and will be ranked according to team wins and total runs scored and runs allowed. Contact Tim Anderson for more information.

SKATEJAM 2010

The 2010 Straight Edge Skate Jam winners were:

Advanced/Sponsored : Tim Schaefer Halethorpe defeated Brad Ziegler, Catonsville in Skate-off

FIELD RENTALS

St Timothy's currently has three ball fields. Field #1 is a lighted & suitable for women's softball, deadball softball, pony league baseball modified soccer/lacrosse,  or kickball. Field #2 is a Little League sized field. Field #3 is a Tee-Ball sized field. During renovations to the ball fields, Rental time may be available on a limited basis. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited on premise. contact Tim Anderson 410-747-6690 for details. Field use is by permit only.

CONCESSION STAND

Our concession stand is open for most events, including daily skatepark sessions.

ST. TIMOTHY'S SKATEPARK

St. Timothy's Skatepark is open from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday after public school ends in mid June. If it is locked when you arrive, ring the doorbell at the church office and someone will unlock the gate for you. Signed waviers are required for skaters under 18 yrs old. Helmets are required for skaters 10 years of age and younger. Helmets are strongly recommended for ALL skaters. Fees are $3 Daily or $25 for unlimited seaonal skateboarding. The season ends around Oct. 31 or as weather permits.

SKATEBOARDING LESSONS

Learn to ollie, kickflip, heelflip, drop-in and grind like the big guys. We are offering beginner lessons on Saturday mornings at 10-11, 11-12 and 1-2. Our teachers work with small groups (5 max. per lesson) to allow younger skaters the time and space to develop their board skills. Competition and skateboard maintenance tips are also taught. Call 410-747-6690 to reserve a spot. Lessons are $5 per hour.

NEW PASTOR OF SPORTS MINISTRY

St. Timothy's has called Tim Anderson to lead the sports programming and Christian outreach in this ministry. Tim was a consulting vendor for many premier sports teams including: the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore Bays, Baltimore Ravens, Richmond Braves, Bowie BaySox, DelMarVa Shorebirds, Harrisburg Senators,  University of Maryland and UMBC Athletics. Tim previously led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) 45+ lacrosse ministry for four years. He has also worked as a volunteer for MANNA and was a CETA program leader. Tim played baseball, football and lacrosse and ran cross country in high school. He played played college football & lacrosse at Marist College before transferring to Cortland State to focus on lacrosse and obtaining a degree in English Lit.. Tim was a high school & college lacrosse coach in CT.

SKATEPARK RENOVATIONS

St Tims has purchased huge upgrades to the skatepark. Skatewave equipment including a four foot 1/4 pipe, a four foot ramp. a pyramid/funbox with stairs, a launch ramp and picnic bench are among some of the obstacles installed before the July 3 SkateJam.

KICKBALL Family-Style

This Summer St. Tim's is forming youth and adult kickball leagues. Games are approximately one hour long. A family league comprising of mixed teams of adults and their children is being offered. Contact Tim Anderson at for info.
