"Easter Triumph" by Catherine Bellis, via the Holy Spirit
Hearken to what the angels said,
Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.
He has won the victor's crown
Death and hell He has put down.
With man Christ shares His victory
When in deep humility
We call upon His matchless Name,
And confess our sins in grief and shame.
‘Tis then the heart with joy o'erflows,
For deep within himself, man knows
The angels' words are true indeed,
Through Christ alone sin-souls are freed.
As the good news is spread round,
The earth responds with joy unbound.
Jonquils dance in the freshening breeze,
Tulips spring up beneath the trees.
White lilies stand tall and fair,
Fragrance of hyacinths scents the air,
Birds in flight tune their cheery song
The sun wakes early, and days grow long.
The cattle on a thousand hills,
Lowing, drink from rippling rills,
And frisky little lambs are seen
Gamboling over meadows green.
Bears arouse from their long sleep,
Deer, with fawns, from woodlands peep,
Wild geese honk, and foxes yap,
For earth holds Springtime in her lap.
And so, with all creation, Lord,
Our glad hearts dance in one accord.
And far and wide the echoes ring,
With praise to our gracious risen King.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
