This past year was one of huge transition in my life. We moved halfway across the country and gave up the home and friends that were familiar to help our family. Though it's been wonderful living close to them, it's also been a trying time as I've attempted to learn my way around, find my place in a new church, develop relationships with in-laws that I had only ever known long distance, and develop new friendships. All this without true understanding from my husband who is originally from this area, so the move was coming back home for him.
In the midst of the raging storms that life brought this year, the Catonsville MOPS group was like a life preserver for me. It was a time set aside just for me, for fellowship, for recharging, for opportunities to serve, for needed laughter, for tears and hugs, and most of all for a reminder that this won't last. The problems, the struggles, the horrible phases, the teething, the separation anxiety, the potty training disasters won't last. Neither will the good times, so I am reminded to savor those moments because they will all too quickly pass away.
I know that the MOPS moms have reminded me to take care of myself and given me the support I needed. I'm sure that I would have made it through without MOPS, but I know that they helped me to be a better mother to my son and encouraged me to be a better person all around. I am blessed to have the MOPS mothers in my life.
Thank you,
